Tasmania's Education Minister says thousands of dollars in government grants will help improve student outcomes at public schools around the state.

Centres such as Windemere Primary in the south, Burnie High in the north west and Mayfield Primary in Launceston are some of the 23 state schools selected to receive between 40 and $50,000 to help address challenges such as literacy and numeracy problems as well as teacher absences.
