Carr Villa Memorial Park will be hosting a special Father’s Day Memorial Service this Friday.
The day is being held for those in the community who are grieving, separated from or missing their dad or a significant male figure from their life.
A spokesperson said the service will be non-religious.
Launceston mayor Matthew Garwood said he hoped it will bring comfort to families and individuals who’ve lost the father figures in their lives.
“While Father’s Day is a happy day on the calendar for many families, it can also be tough for those who’ve lost fathers or father figures,” he said.
“This service is all about celebrating the amazing impact fathers have had on our lives and to celebrate those we’ve lost.
“We hope this service shows people they aren’t on the journey alone.”
The service will be held the facility’s Chapel off Quarantine Road from 10am.
Those thinking of attending are requested to register on 6323 3600.
