Police have released updated figures from a road safety operation yesterday in Northern Tasmania.
Police set up at a dozen locations including South Launceston, Ravenswood, Campbell Town, Exeter, Westbury, Saint Marys and Fingal.
They were targeting drink and drug driving, speeding, mobile phone use and seatbelt offences.
Final figures:
364 Random breath tests (no drink drivers); 8 oral fluid tests conducted with 1 positive result; 3 mobile phones; 7 unregistered vehicles; 56 speed infringements; 6 unlicensed drivers; 2 suspended drivers; 5 people not wearing seat belts; 1 unrestrained child; 1 Provisional driver not displaying P Plates.
35 defect notices issued. Police also charged 1 person with stealing and 2 for possession of a controlled drug.
