Unemployment in Tassie is steady at 3.8% for April, just a little higher than the national rate of 3.6% in the latest ABS report.
Participation, an indicator of job seekers’ confidence in securing a job, remains a weak spot at 63%, the lowest in Australia.
Scott Phillips from the Motley Fool cast an eye on the freshly released data.

According to a statement from the Rockliff government, 291,600 Tasmanians are currently in work.
We’ve seen an increase of 12,400 Tasmanians in employment compared to the same time last year.
Premier, Jeremy Rockliff, said an astounding 140,500 women are now employed, an increase of over 30,000 from 2014.
