Annual wage growth in Tasmania has led the nation.
New ABS data shows the state’s wages grew 3.6% for the year ending September, well ahead of the national figure of 3.2%.
In national terms, the education and training industry recorded the lowest growth of 2.2% across all industries.

Retail trade wages leapt the most by 4.2% while rental, hiring and real estate services salaries also grew strongly.
Of course wages growth is being obliterated by the annual inflation rate which in the year ending September was 8.6% in Hobart, the highest of all the capitals.
