As the cost of living and homelessness crisis continues to bite, the St Vincent De Paul society in Launceston is finding increasing demand on its services, especially its Vinnies Van.
The vans are used to deliver vital mobile food and clothing to people doing it tough in the city.
At the moment four volunteers help with preparing soup and sandwiches which they drop off either at Civic Square or Ravenswood between Saturday and Wednesday nights.
They’ve put out a call for help themselves. They said they are in need of more volunteers.
Vinnies said on average they are helping around 50 people a night.
Any businesses that would support with supplies would also be welcome.
