Music in the Churches
The West Tamar Arts Group is proud to present two concerts in this year’s biennial event “Music in the churches”. We have brought together a group of musicians who will showcase their talents in the wonder acoustics of two local churches.
Saturday 14th October 7pm – Tamar Valley Christian Church, 2485 West Tamar Hwy, Exeter
Harps & Co: A group of harpists will present a diverse range of music, which will showcase the beauty and virtuosity of the harp.
Anne Russell: Is a classically trained mezzo soprano who has sung and acted in opera, oratorio and musical theatre. She will perform in both concerts with different programs.
Peter Grayson-Weeks, pianist and organ player, who studied at the Tasmania conservatorium, has provided accompaniment for vocalists and instrumentalists and has had a long association with Tasmanian chorales. He will perform in both concerts.
The Neumes Ensemble: is a musical group formed in 2023 to play the original music of its members, Karlin Love, Suzanne Turner, Cath Kilner and Spike Mason.
Saturday 21st October 2pm: Holy Trinity Anglican Church, 175 Weld Street, Beaconsfield.
Anne Russell: will perform her second program.
Peter Grayson-Weeks: will accompany Anne Russell, play duets with Ros Holgate and accompany the Tamar Valley Voices.
Ros Holgate: is a pianist who has accompanied conservatorium students, speech and drama productions and the Tamar Valley Voices Choir.
Tamar Valley Voices: is a community choir of local residents, founded around 12 years ago. direct by Anna Sawyer.
Ticket cost $20 for each performance and can be purchased from the Tamar Visitor Centre.
