Wonderful World of Volunteering – Radio Operator

Do you think you could be a volunteer radio operator?

At St Helens Marine Rescue we provide daily radio service across the Northeast Coast for mariners, seafarers & recreational boaters.

Our radio operators monitor the airwaves from 8:00 am until 4:00 pm daily. They provide:

• Hourly skeds, log on and log off service for recreation boaters
• Recieve and activate emergency responses
• Provide weather forecasting and advice on local conditions
• Monitor conditions in Georges Bay and St Helens Bar
• Maintain communications during rescue operations

No prior experience is required …. we provide full training & on the job experience.
