The Tasmanian Government is putting on a brave face in response to news a major hole has been punched in Tasmania’s winter festival lineup.

Dark Mofo won’t be going ahead next year in what organisers are calling a “fallow year” because of rising costs and changing conditions.

Events Minister Minister Street said additional leisure event opportunities will be explored for 2024 to ensure Tasmania continues to be a winter destination.

“The Winter Feast and Nude Solstice Swim will coincide with the opening of a new major exhibition at Mona, providing local and visitors with the chance to continue to embrace and celebrate the best of winter in Tasmania,” he said.
