A likely timetable for an inquest into the Hillcrest Primary School Tragedy could be revealed next week by the Coroner.

Six children were killed on December 16 last year when an inflatable jumping castle was blown 10 metres into the air by a gust of wind.
Coroner Olivia McTaggart will chair a case management conference in the Devonport Magistrate’s Court next Tuesday, at which she will address all interested parties about the intended course of the investigation and the state of progress towards the holding of a public inquest.

Ms McTaggart says she’s received a large volume of evidence including witness affidavits, forensic reports and video and photographic material.
She’s still waiting for a report from Work Safe Tasmania and a weather expert.
The Work Safe report could be the basis for charges to be laid if the Director of Public Prosecutions proceeds in that direction.
