Tas Election Looms Again

Labor’s no confidence motion against Jeremy Rockliff attracted the support it needed, meaning Tasmania’s more than likely to head to an election.

An option would be Labor trying to form government, but that’s considered a long shot.

The Premier’s referenced his advocacy for an AFL stadium in Hobart as part of today’s parliamentary vote going against him.

“We’ve been pushed out the door disrespectfully, if we cannot invest in in a team in the infrastructure required in an industrial wasteland next to sewerage works, then what the hell are we doing.”

The Liberals have savaged Labor leader Dean Winter for bringing this all about, claiming it’s a power grab rather than what’s best for the state.

He’s explained his reasoning.

“I can’t stand stand by and let this Premier ruin our state, rack up $11 billion (debt) and not do anything about it it, what sort of leader would I be if just let him get away with that.”
