A teenager critically injured in a pedestrian crash north of Hobart last month has now succumbed to his injuries in hospital. The 16-year-old boy was walking on the Lyell Highway at Sorell Creek when a vehicle struck him. "Preliminary investigations indicate that around 8:40pm on Sunday 23 July 2023, a 16-year-old boy was walking towards Hobart when he was struck by a vehicle heading in the same direction," said a police statement at the time. "The 21-year-old male driver and 19-year-old female passenger of the vehicle were uninjured." Police say their investigation continues as they prepare a report for the coroner.
