Bride-to-be Stirs Controversy with ‘No-Show’ Wedding Fee

In a recent turn of events, an Aussie bride-to-be has been making waves on the internet with her audacious proposal to levy a no-show fee on truant wedding guests. The bride dropped the bombshell on the popular podcast, ‘She’s on The Money,’ inciting a flood of divided opinions.

The woman shared that a week before her wedding, which is scheduled across state lines, over a dozen guests reneged on their RSVPs, citing travel costs as their reason. The bride, clearly peeved, pointed out that she had given her guests ample heads-up, with the “Save the Date” alerts going out an astonishing year and a half prior.

This unexpected dropout spree has left our aggrieved bride nearly $2000 in the lurch. As a result, she’s contemplating sending out some rather unconventional wedding invoices to the no-shows, sparking a fiery online debate.

The podcast tossed the hot potato onto Instagram, where netizens rapidly picked sides. One indignant commenter quipped, “Guests ditching a week before the wedding? That’s not cricket!” Many were quick to condemn the guests for RSVP-ing yes and then playing hooky, calling it a clear case of poor manners.

The whole affair has sparked debate online and we managed to find that others international “bride-to-be’s” have been running into the same dilemma!

Not everyone was ready to join the raging and numerous bride’s ranks. Some sensible souls pointed out, “A smattering of no-shows at a wedding is as predictable as rain in London. Should’ve budgeted for it, love!” Others took a more astringent stance, stating it was the couple’s responsibility to cover the costs, not the guests they invited.

As the debate rages on, we’re left wondering: Will this be a new trend in weddings or a one-off, sparked by a jilted bride’s quest to balance her books? Either way, it’s one for the books!
