Hydro Tasmania is assuring us asset protection is front of mind for the generator heading into what’s expected to be a busy fire season.
While assets like Launceston’s Trevallyn power station are comparatively safe, some of the 29 others are in remote bush locations.
Hydro says they’ve completed hundreds of hectares of hazard reduction burns, maintained fire trails and reviewed fire management plans.

Dam storage levels are also in good shape to ensure the lights will stay on.
