The Premier has called on his former Attorney-General Elise Archer to clarify her political future.

Ms Archer is considering whether to move to the cross bench after the Premier asked her to resign over allegations of bullying and allegedly insensitive remarks made in private messages about victim-survivors.

While announcing his new Cabinet in Launceston, Jeremy Rockliff said Ms Archer needs to give the public certainty, but she says she is considering her future and it’s up to the Premier as to what he does.

Ms Archer has thanked Tasmanians for their well wishes but says she will now refrain from commenting publicly while she decides whether to remain in Parliament as the Member for Clark.

Mr Rockliff has today stated Tasmanians will not go to the polls early and he is committed to leading the State and carrying out the government’s important work.

The newly announced Cabinet will see several changes including Guy Barnett taking on Attorney-General, Windermere MLC Nick Duigan will take on several ministries including Energy and Police Minister and Braddon MP Felix Ellis is Leader of the House.
