January 25, 2024 9:48 am in by

Time is running out to make a submission on the Federal Government’s proposed Bass Strait Wind Zone, which would be suitable for wind farms in a 10,000 square km zone from Burnie to Bridport.

The proposed zone will allow for wind farm development as close as 20km offshore from Devonport and 40km from Burnie and may be visible from Devonport, Ulverstone and Penguin.

Community drop-in information sessions have been held at Bridport, George Town, Launceston, Burnie, Devonport, and Flinders Island.
